Sammy was getting closer to 75th street. She still couldn't believe Gary left Riley on the street like that in her condition. What did she ever see in him? She knew she shouldn't have answered that question. She was glad she did also though because Riley could not just walk to wherever she had to go to. She was in no condition to do that.
Sammy reached 75th street.

Riley looked at the cars running past her. She felt like somehow they all knew and were judging her.
Riley finally saw a familiar face. Sammy Cheerwood! Sammy Cheerwood... If Gary had told her, she probably would've hated her. Still, she had no where else to turn, so she tried to get her attention. She waved her arm at her.

Sammy drove slowly on the street looking everywhere for Riley. Then, she saw a waving arm.
"Riley!"
Sammy quickly got out of the car and went up to Riley. She was glad Riley didn't travel too far so that Sammy could find her. She barely knew Riley, but she felt relieved Riley was ok.
"Are you ok?"

Gary was right behind Sammy when she reached 75th street. "Please, Sammy! I know, I was wrong and you will never forgive me, but let me tell you something: I felt something for Riley that night, but what I felt for you was more! I didn't want to get so involved with her that I couldn't be with you. I wouldn't be able to live with myself! So please, let me tell you, the day that I met you on the beach was the best day of my life. I know you probably think I'm just saying this, but I'm not. I really mean it." Gary turned to Riley.
"I'm really sorry. I can't beleive I did this to you. You deserve the best from the father of your child, and I didn't give it to you. I am hated from the two most important people in the world to me, and I hate myself. You are in no condition to be walking in the streets, and I am willing to take you to Planned Parenthood if you are willing to ride in the same car as me. I know you girls both hate me, and it makes me feel horrible. What do you want me to do to make you forgive me? I'll do anything." Gary couldn't believe what he did, and it was clear to him now why they hate him so much.

Riley shook her head. She was physically fine, but mentally and emotionally, she was terrible. She let tears come. She didn't think it would be immature to cry because she was pregnant.
"Can you... sniff... take me home?" she said.
When she heard the voice of Gary, it angered her. Didn't he catch the drift that Riley didn't want him in her - or the baby's - life?
"Gary, it is clear to me now more than ever that you can not father this child. If you leave me out in the cold when I am pregnant because you are mad at me, then what are you going to do to my baby when it irritates you?" she said.

"Riley, I am going to get help. I am going to hire a therapist for me, so I don't hurt anyone else. I understand that I have anger issues, and I need to learn how to control it. I don't know who will help me, but I will find someone to..." Gary realized he is dangerous to those around him, and he hated that about him.

"No." she said. She refused to put her child at risk.
"You are in no position to try to persuade me. Let's see, we have statuatory rape and abusive behavior." she said.

Gary was just getting more and more furious.
"Fine, so what you want is for me to keep on abusing people. You're being such a selfish drama queen. Your not letting me get help when I need it, because you don't want me to. What is wrong with that sentence?" Gary felt like slapping her across he face, but he couldn't, not in front of Sammy.

"Guys, this is not a good time to fight. Riley, you really could use some rest. Let me take you to you home. You look exhausted."
Sammy was sure this drama wasn't going to end, but she'll keep trying to stop it for now.

Gary was glad Sammy was there to stop the argument. He couldn't stand Riley's complaining any longer.
"Sammy, I'm so sorry about all of this."

"Sammy can you please just take me home? Gary you can come too if you want I guess, because we have to talk about this sooner or later." she said.
Sammy wa being a good mediator. Maybe they could be friends.

Gary looked at Riley.
"Alright. I'll follow you guys there." Gary jumped into his car, and started it up.
