Riley sat on the bench. She was so bored...
She knew Gary was gonna pursue her. She shouldn't have led him on. She was trying to have a real relationship instead of being obcessed with Chris Taylor. But she want to rush into anything.

Gary casually walked by the bench, and saw Riley sitting there. He flatted his collar and walked forward.
"Uh, hey. I got you something..." He gave her a simple rose.

"Um... thanks." she said
This felt really weird to her. Why was she s o hung up on someone she didn't know.
She started to cry.
"I'm sorry..." she said

Riley started to cry. Gary was confused, "Do you not like the rose? What are you sorry for? You're perfect. I never felt this way about anyone before, and you have no reason to cry." Gary put his arm around her. "Don't worry. Did I do something wrong?"
Gary was so confused.

"No its not you... sniff... you are such a nice guy..." she said
She wiped her face
"You should know what you are getting into... and that is someone who is hung up on a guy she doesn't even know." she finished

"I feel the same way, but I feel like I've known you forever. I can tell you anything. You are perfect, and I think I might love you." Gary said. He was wrong, because he knew he loved her.

"Gary there is no way you can love me. You've known me for a day!" she said
But shee knew that he could, because she was stupidly in love with Chris Taylor.

Gary thought about what she said. "Yeah, your right... So, uh, tell me the truth; how do you feel about me asking you to be my... my... my girlfriend..." Gary looked at Riley with hopeful eyes.

"Um, Gary. I think for now we should be just friends. Nothing against you, you seem like a great guy..." she said
"But we hardly know each other and..."
The tears began coming again. Why was she crying? She never cried!

Gary sighed.
"Oh, it's alright. This isn't the first time I've been rejected... Oh, don't cry, please don't cry. I understand what your saying... I'll just go throw away the rest of the roses in my car... I'll be right back..."
Really, Gary just didn't want Riley to see him cry.

"We just... shouldn't take it too fast... sniff" she said
'Why am I just rejecting a great guy?' she thought
But she knew why. And the reason was pitiful.

Gary smiled. It was a forced smile, but he smiled.
"I know. I just have a feeling you could be the one. You know, THE one. But, if you don't like me like that, I'm cool."

"I want to stay friends though, and I'm not just saying that!" she said

"Alright, listen, I understand. I just want to have someone special, and, I don't know, I just felt maybe you could be that special someone. I guess I felt wrong. Yeah, we could be friends, thats cool..." Gary said, acting like he was cool.
Really, Gary was heartbroken.

Riley saw through his fake coolness.
'Maybe he does love me' she thought
Rori gave him a hug, trying to make him feel better.
"If you want, I can set you up with someone."
