Riley was hugely pregnant. She was about 39 weeks pregnant (almost 10 months) and was expecteed to have a very healthy pregnancy.
She was at home looking at online schools. She thought she peed herself, but she realized that her water broke.
"Gary... it's time!" she yelled.

Gary was giving TIger his food and water when he heard Riley yell to him from the bedroom. He rushed in, dog food still in his left hand. He quickly placed it in the kitchen and got his jacket.
"We're going to the hospital!" He shouted. He couldn't believe it. He was becoming a father. Today.

Riley got in the car and Gary sped down the streets.
She saw flashing red and blue lights.
"DAMNIT!" she said.

Landon had Gary roll down the window.
"Sir, do you know how fast you are going?" he said.
He then saw Riley, hugely pregnant and looking very nervous.
The girl was going into labor.
"Oh! I'm sorry, I'll personally escort you to the hospital!" he said.
Landon got in his cruiser and escorted them to the hospital, every car in their way moving aside.

Gary glanced over to his wife, who was in a pain that made him so sad, as so many thoughts went through his head.
"Am I going to be a good father?" He asked himself.
"What will I do with Alec..." He asked himself.
He was a wreck.

"Hey, I'm the one that has to have Alec," she said, encouragingly.
There was no doubt in her mind that Gary was going to be an amazing father. He was so mature, so loving and caring...

The car arrived in the parking lot of the hospital, and Gary quickly took Riley's hand in his and they walked into the hospital together. Gary had Riley sit down and relax, while he spoke to the lady at the front desk.

Riley was sent into a room with a doctor. She was so excited. Hopefully it wouldn't be too painful.
What seemed like many hours, but wasn't more than 1 and a half.
The pain was almost unbearable.
["You are too far along for an epidural, so it looks like this is going to have to be a natural delivery, you are 9 and a half centimeters,"] the doctor said.
How was she going to get through this pain?

When Riley finally reached 10 centimeters, the doctor told her to push. She screamed. The pain was unbearable. ["You're doing great Riley, I can see a head!"] Riley pushed with all her might, and Alec was born. Gary cut the cord and the nurse took Alec away to clean him. When they brought him back, Riley had them give him directly to Gary. "He looks just like his daddy," she said, exhausted.

Gary looked down at his new son. Alec Tyler Hammelman. It was a joy like no other. When he looked at Alec's face, a tear dropped down and splashed onto the hospital floor. Gary laughed and cried at the same time.
"Hey little guy. I'm your daddy!" Gary said in a soft voice, as he held the baby in one hand, and Alec's hand in the other.

Riley looked over at the wonderful scene that was taking place. Tears ran down her face. Gary was holding Alec, and the happiness in his eyes was just incredible. All the worries, all the fear, all the pain, all the strife. It was all worth it.
There were now 2 people in the world that she would gladly die for.
Their little family was finally complete.
She was so overwhelmed by joy that tears still streamed down her face. Nothing else in the world could compare to the absolute love and joy she felt.

"Can I have him?" she asked.
Tears were running down her cheeks. She couldn't believe that she was a mother. But already, she loved Alec so much

Gary nodded. "Here you go." He handed Riley the baby. He walked over to her and put his arm around her shoulder.
"I can't believe it..." He said, tears still pouring.

"Hi Alec... I'm your mommy..." she said.
She didn't want to break down into tears with him in her arms. But inside, the emotion of the moment was at a fever pitch.
"And I love you..." she added.
