Kaylee sat on a park bench, exhausted. Her first relationship recently ended. She felt terrible. She was by no means in love with him, but she felt like such a loser.
She looked down at the grass. It looked recently mowed. She didn't see the point of mowing something that would just grow back again every week.
Kaylee looked at her breasts. She made them look as big as possible, trying to boost her confidence. It didn't work of course, other than an old dude at the wal-mart parking lot checking her out.

Brad was taking a stroll in the park after his elimination from "American Star". He thought to himself, maybe it was for the best since the show got canceled, but no matter what he said, he couldn't help feeling depressed.
He saw children running everywhere care-free. He wished he was that age again. No fear of disappointment. He just couldn't face the world anymore. He went to the park bench and sat down. He noticed that a girl about 14 was sitting next to him. She seemed as depressed as he was.
He started to open his mouth to ask her what's wrong, but no words came out. He gave up, and laid his head back and closed his eyes.

Kaylee saw an older guy sitting next to her. He was VERY good looking. Every day of her life, she wished she was older. But to everyone else, she was just some stupid kid. The guy had a melancholy mood around him.
She wondered at first if she should say anything.
"So... are you always this depressed?" she asked, trying to sound old.

Brad opened his eyes slowly, wondering if she was talking to him. But who else was depressed around here except him? He opened his eyes and faced her.
"Nah", he replied, "I'm just depressed over my elimination for American Star".
He wondered if he should say more. But at the moment, he didn't feel like talking to anyone, yet alone a stranger.

"Didn't that show get cancelled anyway?" she said.
Maybe someone actually didn't view her as a kid.
"If you are passionate about your music, you don't need a lame, fake reality tv show to make it happen. I did it by myself and I'm..." she paused.
"17," she finished

Brad looked at her. From far away, he thought she was around 14. He studied her face. It was really innocent. There was no way in his mind that she could be 17.
"I guess", he said, "it's just that I thought this was my big break and I could really make it in Hollywood...". He paused.
Why was he telling her so much? They barely met each other. But somehow, he could feel a spark between them. How could this be? They have a 7 age difference...if she was telling the truth that is.

"Maybe I can get you an audition with Starfold..." she said.
Although, to be honest, she quite disliked Starfold. He wanted to make her the next pop princess when she wanted to do a new indie-country thing.
"I'm Kaylee by the way," she said.

"Hey Kaylee", he replied. "I'm Brad, Brad Shaftner. Thank you for your generous offer, but I don't think I can handle another audition."
He just couldn't be disappointed again. It would break his heart. Somehow, he started to get his senses back. He noticed he haven't had anything to eat in 24 hours.
"Hey Kaylee...? Do you want to go grab a bite?"
He expected her to say no, considering they just met and all, but somewhere deep inside, he knew she was going to say yes.

"I guess..." she said.
Did a guy in his 20's just ask her out? What kind of insane, perverted dream was this?
"Yeah. That sounds nice," she added, smiling.
That was a confidence booster. But if Rori or Riley or anyone found out about this, she would be dead and Brad would be in jail. Of course, it could be just an innocent lunch.
She almost snickered at that thought.

"Cool" he said. "Where you wanna go?"
He hoped in his head that Kaylee doesn't think that this was a date. He just needed someone to talk to while he was depressed. Is that so wrong? Besides, she's 17. There's not THAT much of a difference...is there?

"I don't care..." she said, "I'm really not all that hungry,"
Kaylee liked the idea of doing something with Brad. She didn't know what it was like to like someone. In her first relationship, she just wanted to have a relationship. Although she didn't know it, she liked someone that was probably 10 years older than her.
"But I'll go and just get something to drink or something," she said.

"That's cool too" he said, "You can tell me some more about your career."
He just didn't know what else to say. Here he was, going out to eat with someone way younger than he was. He kept thinking to himself that this is just an innocent lunch. Two friends getting to know each other, but even he can't believe himself. He tried not to think too much about it.
As he stood up to grab his jacket, he thought to himself, maybe this could work out. Maybe they could be more than friends...As he waited for Kaylee to join him, he knew it was the start of something special.
