Riley got Alec out of the carseat. She didn't realize until now that she was very sore. But just holding her child made it all better.
Things couldn't get any better right now. A beautiful baby and incredible husband.
It almost made her forget about Chris.
Almost.

Riley looked at Gary. She felt unbelievable gratitude and love for him. Chris was just some unrequited love that would and should never happen.
She turned her head to Alec.
"He's ours," she said.
"Forever..."

Gary looked at Riley and felt a rush of emotions. Before Alec came along, they were just two people in love. Now they are a family, and a happy one. Gary remebered all the sour memories, and now, thinking about how happy he and Riley were, laughed at the thought.
Gary looked at Riley.
"I love you." He said meaningfully.

"I love you too," she replied.
She looked down at Alec.
"And I love you too," she added.
She heard the pacing of clawed-feet and then saw Tiger running towards her, looking questioningly at Alec. She held Alec closer to him and he licked his face. Riley laughed.

Gary smiled as Tiger licked Alec.
"He likes you!" Gary said to Alec in a baby voice.

Riley lifted her baby back up and looked into Gary's eyes. His kind, caring, beautiful eyes. After being unsure about it, she was falling in love with him again. Chris was nothing but a pretty face that hated her. Gary was everything.
"I love you..." she said, "I really, really love you,"
She sat over on the couch, with Alec in her arms. Gary followed her and they silently watched him fall asleep. It was a beautiful moment. The child growing inside of her for 9 months was warm and breathing and alive. She knew she no longer came first. Everything, from here on was about Alec. When Alec was asleep, she tenderly kissed Gary.
"Let's have another one," she whispered jokingly.

Gary laughed and put Alec in his newly-aquired crib. Gary walked back to the couch, put his arm around Riley, and kissed her passionately.

"Our life is set..." she said.
"You have a record deal, we got the money from Tyler, I'm going to online school and we have a child," she said.

Gary nodded. "It really can't. I'm so lucky. I mean, nobody ever liked me back in New York, and now that I moved here..." Gary stopped. He looked into Riley's eyes. "You're so perfect."

"Maybe after I get a job we really can have another one," she said.
She kissed him with a burning passion.
Riley went into Alec's room and looked at him. He was awake but not crying. It appeared they had a good baby.
"Hey my little guy," she said. "Wanna come see your daddy?"
Riley picked him up and took him to Gary. He needed to get acuainted with his daddy.

Gary took Alec in his arms. He looked into the baby's eyes emotionally.
Gary was a jerk in New York. He was rude to everyone, because they were rude to him. Now, he's here, with a family. He's a dad.
"Hey pal!" Gary laughed. Alec giggled. Alec reached out to Gary.

"He's gonna be one hell of a guy," she said. "He has a good dad,"
Riley yawned. She was exhausted. She nodded off on Gary's shoulder, where she slept.
She dreamt about a lot of things. Her first dream was about her and Chris, and how she almost killed him because of her immaturity. Next she dreamt about her and Gary's first time, mostly the day after. Her emotions were out of whack. She drove Gary out of her life. Next was when she realized she was pregnant, and how Gary left her on the streets. It was what really made her grow up. Next was her and Chris when she went to live with him after she told him she was pregnant. She then dreamt of Gary winning her back. Then Gary proposed in the hospital. Then they went to Vegas and got married, followed by staying up all night to make love. Then everything was a blur and she had Alec. The weird thing though, was that in the beginning of the dream she saw herself as a child, then when she was pregnant she was a teenager. But now holding Alec, she was an adult.
There was one thing for sure: she had grown up a lot.

Gary kissed the top of Riley's head. She was talking in her sleep. Gary found that adorable, and he chuckled. He got up slowly so that Riley was laying on the bed. He smiled and walked over to a cabinet. He looked for something to eat, he was starving. Alec was in his hands, and he gave him his bottle. Then, he brought Alec to his crib and put him in it.
While Gary was looking in the fridge, something caught his eye. It was a chocolate bar. It was 3:00 in the morning, and Gary felt guilty, reaching for the chocolate bar. Every time he said no, he wanted it even more. He couldn't control himself. He quickly got it and ate it as fast as he could.

Riley woke up to the sound of Alec's crying. Even then, he was adorable. She went over to his crib.
"Oh, what's wrong buddy?" she said sympathetically.
After some speculation, she realized he was hungry. She was going to breast-feed him, and knew how but was very nervous about it. But, as a mother, she did what she had to do. It did hurt a little, but nothing too bad.
