"Wait, your head hit a rock? I should take you to the hospital! No wonder you think Ashley's here." Allie said. She was really scared for him. What if he had amnesia!

"No, I didn't hit my head," he said.
"Do you see a mark?" he explained, "There is nothing there,"
"I wouldn't have been able to swim against that current," he said, pointing to the river.

"I'm fine." he said sternly.
"I know I sound crazy right now. But haven't you ever heard of near-death experiences? People see people they love," he said.

Allie has heard of them and had one. "Yeah, I believe you. Please don't tell me you were in the river trying suicide!" Allie said, but she thinks she knew the answer.

"I just wanted to escape the pain..." he said.
"I miss her so much..." he said, crying.
"I've never told anyone this before, but I've dreamt about her every night since..." he said,

"So have I Barry. I think about her in school, I dream about her. She was my best friend before she even met you."
"I need to get you to a therapist. You need one! Come on." Allie told him.

"I already have one. It doesn't help," he said.
Barry stood up and realized he MUST have been in the water. The only evidence was his smashed guitar.
"Aww... my guitar..." he said.
"Ashley's mom wants to see me," he told her.

"I'm sorry about your guitar." Allie told him. Allie took out a check wrote on it and handed it to Barry. It was for $2,000. "Here, do what you want with it. Like a video game system, or a television, OR A NEW GUITAR. No need to pay me back, I have a really good job and I can tell you really liked the guitar.
"Oh, can you tell Ashley's mom I'm sorry I couldn't visit her today?" She asked. She visits Ashley's mom every day. They talk and cry together.
"And one last thing," Jill took out a piece of paper and wrote him a number for a therapist "Here's a REALLY good therapist. I visit him. This girl, Jill Irasen, who lives in your town visits him too. She's been getting happier, we've became friends." Allie told him
"Well, bye."

"I think I'm gonna stay here for awhile. And I know Jill," he said.
"I have a lot of unfinished business here,"
He gave Allie a hug.
"Hope to see you soon,"
-------------------------------Later at Mrs. Cohen's
["You really talked to her?"] Ashley's mom said.
"Yeah, I think so," he replied.
["That is amazing Barry,"]
"I know... it's like I was meant to jump into the river,"
["Just don't try that again,"]
"I don't plan on it,"
["Well, Barry, I have saved this here for you for a long time. I think Ashley would want you to have it,"]
She pulled out an old, but very beautiful, acoustic guitar. It was customized and said "AC+BD".
"Ashley's guitar... this is... wow..."
Mrs. Cohen gave him a tight hug. He didn't realize how much he missed her before. She was more of a mother to him than his mother was.
A few weeks later, Barry left the town. Ever since he saw Ashley, his eyes were a little brighter and his smile was a little wider. He missed her more than anything, but now he knew they would be together again someday. Her guitar beame his most treasured possession, and he knew that his guardian angel would always be watching over him.
