Carson picked Kala up at her house and took her to the beach. The sun was just about to set, and the picnic was all set up. Carson had an amp and microphone hooked up on the lifeguards tower.
"Um, I gotta go to the bathroom," he said.
He pretended to run back to his house, but he sneakily got on the lifeguard's tower.
He spoke into the microphone. There were people around, and they would be able to here him.
"Um, hi I'm Carson. I'm gonna sing a song I wrote called Take a Chance, which I wrote for my girlfriend, Kala," he said.
He sang the duration of the song and sang the chorus one last time.
"So I'll Take A Chance
I'll Make Romance
I'll start living my daydreams
I'll always be true to you
I'll take a Chance
I'll Make Romance
I'll tell you those three words
I'll try to get a clue
To tell you I love you,"

Kala sat patiently, while listening to the song. She swayed with the rhythm, and she had a huge grin on her face. When Carson was finished, she stood up and began to clap and whistle. It was an amazing song.

Carson quickly climbed down the ladder, hearing the applause of everyone around him.
He ran over to Kala, hugged her, and tenderly kissed her.
"I love you," he said.

Kala felt like melting. She was with the person she loved.
"I..."
She began,
"I think I love you, too."

Carson got out a bottle of sparkling grape-juice. He poured them each a glass, and proposed a toast.
"To our love," he said.

"Oh whoops... I'm sorry I didn't know," he said.
He dumped her glass out and filled it with sparkling apple juice.
"To our love!" he repeated.

"Carson..." Kala started. "I was just kidding." She laughed ad nudged him with her elbow. She drank it down and smiled.

Carson laughed.
"I got you something," he said.
He pulled out a jewelry box. Inside was a diamond necklace shaped like a heart.

Kala stared at it in awe.
"It's beautiful. I'm sorry, my present for you kind of stinks."
Out of Kala's pocket came a small ring with a large red gem on top.
"It's a ring pop," She laughed.

"Being with you is the better than any gift anyone could ever give me," he said.

Kala's face got all serious and she jumped up and gave him a huge hug.

Carson kissed her passionately. They ended up laying on the picnic blanket kissing. He didn't grope her or anything, he respected her too much.
He had dirty thoughts about her. But he didn't think she was ready to have sex. And he didn't want to make the same mistake he did with Danielle.

Kala kissed him. It was an amazing feeling. The sun had begun to set, and the scene was perfect.
She didn't want to make a mistake, like getting pregnant. At her age, it wasn't worth it.
