David called Sally to ask her to come to the studio to work on the CD

It was pretty early in the morning. Wow, what a day it was yesterday for Sally. She snagged a record deal right after So You Think You Can Dance, and she met the boy of her dreams. The call woke her up and Sally got the call.
"Um, sure!"
Sally got up quickly and quickly got dressed and brushed her teeth. She was working on a new song named 13 and she had to show what she did so far with it with David. She really wanted this song to be on the album. She got dressed at last in some blue jeans and a white top. She grabbed a bread , started eating it, and ran to the studio which was not too far away.

"Hello Sally. How are you this morning? Hmm is your agent stuck in traffic or what?" David said.
They were actually going to have to negotiate her contract today, since she wasn't officially under contract.

Sally quickly ran into the studio finishing her bread.
"Hello Sally. How are you this morning? Hmm is your agent stuck in traffic or what?" David said.
"I have an agent?"
Sally didn't really know she had an agent. Or did David expect her to have an agent? Sally better think fast.
"Uh, yeah! Stuck in traffic! Heh heh."

"Oh I see, you don't have an agent. I'm sorry Sally but I don't think you have what it takes to be in this business." David said, as solemnly as possible. He was really joking, but he didn't sound like it

"Oh no, please Mr. Starfold! Um, I know I can make it! I'm sorry!"
Was she supposed to say that? Or was she suppose to agree? Sally figured out that this business was going to be harder then she thought and that Starfold might not be the nicest person to work with. She better get her act together.

"Relax Sally, I'm only kidding. And by the way, Mr. Starfold was my father."
This worked every time. It eased tension between clients, and made it easier to work together.

"I know. Of course you have a father! I just thought it's respectful to call you that because you know, you didn't have to sign me. You could've let me fade in the background. You could kick me out right now!"
Sally was talking really fast. Having no idea what to say. So she said everything she was thinking. Was she supposed to choose one? It was so hard to choose what to say to such an important person that could really help her career rocket.

"Well I asked you to come here today, Jitters, to negotiate your contract. And by the way, I think calling me David breaks down the barrier between employer and employee."
David could tell she was nervous. Just like him when he signed his first record deal.

"Um, ok David! Well, I promise to focus as best as possible!"
She was thinking she better get less nervous and act like her old self. Because she thought it was important David liked her and she really just wanted to be herself to show him what she is like. She doesn't know how to act naturally at this point though.

"Ok, so since this is an amateur contract, I was thinking something along the lines of 250,000 a year and 8% of tour and albums profits. What is your position on this?"
((I really have no idea what artists get paid lol))

((250,000 a year is amazing are you kidding me!!! It's like 21,000 a month))
"Ok so signature here, initial here, signature here, fingerprint here, and were good!!!"
'That was surprisingly easy' David thought

(Alright, I fixed it. I don't know what I was thinking. ) Sally signed even though she didn't read the print. She just wanted to make David happy without any annoying complaining he probably gets from the other artists.

"Ok, I guess we can start recording."
The easiest negotiation he'd had in a while.
"Oh and I never do any fine print crap on contracts, I know what it's like being an artist just starting out."
