He rolled into the movie theater on his wheelchair, struggling to move pass the many obstacles that laid in his path. He could barely squeeze through the doors of the enterance, and now that he was in he was struggling even more to get through the crowds of people who had come to see the hot new movie out, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Chris was a loyal Harry Potter fan. He was disappointed that he had missed the premiere night, since he was in the hospital, but it was the day following his release, and he needed to watch the movie. However, he was having a difficult time getting around. He was still getting used to being out of bed and moving, let alone using a wheel chair.

Riley was sitting at home, looking at her very, very slightly bulging belly. She didn't know if it was actually getting bigger or if she was just imagining it.
Chris was out of the hospital now. She really missed him. She decided to text him.
"Wut are u doing?" the text said

Chris glanced at his ticket as he rolled through the crowd of people. As he struggled through the crowd, he noticed the eyes of people turn towards him and whispers all around him. He felt like an outcast in the chair, he felt different. It wasn't a good feeling whatsoever, especially when you were the popular jock in high school. But so far his experiences in The City had been horrible. First of all there was Riley, then he got hit by a car and now he was going along, struggling to live a normal life while he was stuck in a wheel chair for so many months. And not to mention, he was the newbie in town. He didn't know anybody really, except James, Rori and...Riley. He felt lonely and isolated, like he didn't belong.
As Chris rolled away from the concession stand after his purchase of a bag of popcorn, his phone began to ring. 'Crap,' Chris thought as he struggled to get his iPhone out. With his right hand all bandaged up, he found it difficult to pull off tasks. He finally reached it after a total of two minutes.
It was a message from...Riley. Chris didn't feel like replying. He didn't know how to feel when the name "Riley" came up. To be honest, he really could not stand her. Yes, he knew he had crushed her heart, but honestly, she'd crushed his spirit and his physical body. He found her nothing but annoying and desperate, a drama queen, an overly dramatic, annoying drama queen. And he knew that she wouldn't stop until she got him.
Chris put down his phone, closed it, and continued his way to the movie. He didn't want to deal with Riley at the moment. He wasn't in the mood.

When no one responded, Riley wasn't surprised. She was sure Chris hated her, and thought she was an immature psychopath. But Riley was really trying to change. She hadn't lived here that long, and she had been through so much. She wasn't the same girl that tried killing herself a month ago. She had grown up a lot
She had to. She was going to be a mother in 8 months. And she was all alone. Rori would barely talk to her since she found out. Gary hated her and left her alone on the streets. Chris probably hated her as well. James hated her for hurting Chris.
She decided to get out of the house. She got in her new car, a shiny silver Volvo and just drove. She didn't know where she was going, but she ended up at the movie theater. To her surprise, she saw a banged up guy in a wheelchair. Her heart fluttered, but she didn't know if she should talk to him.
'What do you have to lose?' she asked herself.
She walked over to him.
"Um, hey Chris..." she said shyly.

Chris struggled to make his wheelchair move in the direction he wanted. He was still getting used to the feeling of moving with basically your arms pushing at a wheel instead of your legs. It was not as easy as it seemed. Controlling was difficult, and even Chris, whose hobby was working out, eventually got aching arms.
It was at that second that his eyes met with a familiar face; Riley. For a second his mind told him '"run, run" but he couldn't move. He wheeled carefully towards her, his eyes glued to hers. His facial expression was cold, one that could tell anyone who saw him how he felt and how much pain he was in, a pain that was both physical and mental.
"Um, hey Chris..." she said shyly.
"Hey...." he mumbled codly and that was all he said. Yet his eyes glued with hers and did not let go.

"Chris... I know you must have mixed feelings about seeing me again... But I am so sorry for everything... I messed up, and I take full blame for you getting hurt." she said.
Her eyes were glued to his, and although she felt like crying, she didn't. She did enough of that. At some point she had to grow up and stop being a child, because she was going to have one soon.

A silence wrapped itself around the pair for what seemed like hours. All Chris could do was stare up at Riley from his wheelchair. It felt weird having to look upward just to meet his eyes with Riley's when a week ago it was her who had to look up in order to meet his.
His feelings about Riley were all a big mess. He did not want to deal with her, and yet something tugged him towards the fact that he must. Despite his large wanting to roll away from her, he did not.
"No, it's fine..." Chris mumbled, "Everything's fine...I'm ok..."

"So, um... what movie are you seeing?" she said
Suddenly, her stomach began to churn. Morning sickness again.
"Ugh... excuse me for a minute..." she said.
She held her hand over her mouth and ran to the bathroom, where she threw up. She brushed her teeth (she carried her toothbrush and toothpaste on her because of the morning sickness) and went back to Chris. Hopefully he wouldn't be too suspicious.
"I'm sorry about that." she said.

"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," Chris replied coldly, "Supposed to see it with James and his family on the night it premiered, but you know...I was in the hospital."
As Riley hurried away, her mouth looking quite uncomfortable from where he sat, he barely noticed her leaving from his side. For a second, he just sat alone in his wheelchair as people walked around him. He melt cold, isolated, alone. Chris took a deep sigh as he stared down at his feet, feet he would not be able to use for such a long time.

"Yeah... I'm sorry Chris..." she said.
She'd never been more sorry about anything in her entire life.
"I don't know if you heard... Tyler was killed," she said, with glassy eyes.

As Riley trudged back to him, a feeling of uneasiness arose once again around Chris. He didn't know what to think of Riley, and that is what made him feel so uncomfortable when he was with her or when they talked or when they communicated at all. Yes, he was angry that it was all her little drama queen fault that he was binded to a wheelchair for such a long time, but it was also his instinctive action that got him hit by the car, an action he felt obligated to do because, well, he couldn't just stand there and watch Riley get hit by a car. He didn't like how dramatic and obsessive she was, and yet all and all Riley was a pretty nice, sweet girl.
"Yeah, I know," Chris said as Riley brought up Tyler's death, probably in an attempt to break the silence that had again surrounded them. He was saddened by this fact, because he had known Tyler on ANTS. Chris remembered their time on the show, how they had hung out together at the hotel and played pranks on the other contesants, acting just like immature high school jocks. He grinned at the memories, and he was sad that no more could be made.
"Riley...." Chris said finally after a while, "You shouldn't be sorry. You did nothing wrong. I guess I'll just have to deal with being in this thing and being in these bandages for a while."

"I did... everything wrong Chris... I've messed up so many times in this past month or so and if I were you, I would hate me..." she said.
"I'm..." she started, but the words wouldn't come out. It felt like her lungs were being ran over by a train.
Gasping for air... she told him the terrible reality.
"I'm pregnant," she said.

"Hate is a strong word," Chris replied after a minute of silence, "Yes, I am annoyed by you. Yes, I am frustrated over the fact that I cannot let you down without you throwing yourself in front of a car or something. But I don't hate you, Riley."
It was after his words that he noticed a painful expression on Riley's face. She gasped for breath as if air was slipping away from her mouth and she had no way of pulling it back into her mouth. For a second Chris was stunned at what he saw. He was surprised when words finally came out of the same mouth that a minute ago seemed to be unable to grasp them.
"I'm pregnant," she said.
Silence followed, and this time the silence sat.....for a while.

"Chris... I was in a dark place... and Gary was there for me. Then he got me pregnant. It is over between him and I... I would do anything to go back and change everything," she finally said, after a long silent patch.
Everything was going so wrong... Riley had messed up so many times. Her life was falling apart, and it was only getting worse with time. Maybe she should go home to Syracuse, with her parents. Maybe they would still love her... But at the same time, she didn't want to leave everything behind. No, that was incorrect. She didn't want to leave Chris behind.

For a second Chris was a relieved that he wasn't the father, but at the same time he couldn't help but feel very bad for Riley. He had always pitied her for her over-dramatic, drama queen personality that seemed to get her into a lot of trouble, but this was something that he just had to make himself feel bad about. What was she going to do? She was only 17 years old with a baby on the way, raising the child pretty much all by herself. And what about the child? What would happen to him/her?
"Wow, Riley," Chris said as he wheeled closer to her, "I'm really sorry. If there's anything I can do...."
