"That's not the same as having a father though..." she said, tears pouring out of her eyes.
She was exhausted, scared, and sick. She didn't know if it could get any worse.

Michelle knew she was no counselor, but she didn't want Riley to be so miserable.
"Riley, sweetie, just calm down. I know this is tough for you, and it must be hard. But someone will come for you. Someone." Michelle hugged Riley for a long time.

"Michelle... what if no one does come? What If I am left alone to take care of him by myself?" she said.
Why did Michelle even care? She barely knew her.

"Your a strong girl. You will be fine. And I will help you." Michelle thought a minute. "If you don't mind me asking, who even IS the father of your child?"

"His name is... Gary," she said.
Saying the name brought back some hard feelings. She had given her virginity to him, and he left her on the streets.
"It was my first time..."

Gary knew Riley lived in Chris's apartment now. This was his only chance to get her back. He had his acoustic guitar in one hand, and the other hand was empty. He ran to the grass that the Taylor's window faced, and started singing:
You are so beautiful to me You are so beautiful to me Can't you see Your everything I hoped for Your everything I need You are so beautiful to me
Such joy and happiness you bring Such joy and happiness you bring Like a dream A guiding light that shines in the night Heavens gift to me You are so beautiful to me
Gary played one last strum of his guitar.

Gary was nervous, because now he was going to sing one of his originals:
I know I was stupid, You'll never take me back, But I want to let you know, I love you more then heck!
I really was a jerk to you, and what do you want me to do To make you feel the way I do about you. About you.
I love you with a burning passion, I love you more then anything else. Your the only one I want Your the only one I need And I know that you hate me so, But I just want to let you know I'm here for you, No matter, who you choose, Because of how much I love you.
I want you to know, How much I love you so, I think that you are perfect in every possible way when you look at me, I just begin to sway.
I want you to know, how much I love you so, I want you to know that I Am here for you, And only you.
You are my only love, The only girl I'm thinking of The one that makes my heart race, Whenever I look at your face.
Please forgive me, my dear Riley, When your aroud, I go crazy, My heart is only, Dedicated to you. Only you.
Gary was confident about his song, but hoped Riley loved it to.

Riley heard the strumming of a guitar and looked out the window.
Gary...
He was serenading her through the window...
It was so sweet that it made her cry. But she turned away from the window and didn't look back. She just couldn't be with him after everything.

Gary knew it would take more then just a song he wrote to make Riley forgive him. He quickly ran to his car and came out, arms full of chocolate.
"How will I make it up the stairs to the room with my arms full..." He thought. He decided to take the elevator. He quickly got in it and hit the floor number. He knocked on the door with his elbow.

Riley saw James open the door. She saw who was standing in the doorway.
She didn't want to have to face him. But she had to.
She didn't know what she wanted. But he was going to be her baby's father. She wasn't wasn't sure how she felt about him. She walked over to him, tears streaming down her face.
"Gary..." she said.

Gary put down the giant pile of chocolates.
"Riley, I really hate myself for what I did to you. I know you won't forgive me, but I feel terrible. I thought, if anything, I could at least try and make you forgive me. I really love you." Gary looked into Riley's eyes as he was saying this.

Riley embraced Gary in a loving hug, and burst to tears even more.
She decided to lighten the mood.
"I get to name him," she said, words shaky.

Suddenly, Gary was hugging Riley.
"Fine..." Gary said in a sarcastic way. Wait a minute, did this mean he would get to be the father?

Riley moved her face closer to his, hoping he would get the hint. Just a few minutes ago she was crying because her baby didn't have a father. But he did... his real father.
Gary didn't get the hint, so Riley kissed him. Chris was her first kiss, but this kiss she knew meant something.

Riley's kiss meant something to Gary. It was the most meaningful little thing he had ever experienced. Riley meant something to Gary.
