Gary was confused with what he just heard.
"Girlfriend? Oh, Sammy? She's not my girlfriend." Gary laughed. "Yet..." He thought.

Riley gave Sammy a hug. Being the overdramatic person she was, she really didn't have many friends.
"I hope we can good friends," Riley said with a smile.
Then Riley really got a look at her. She was BEAUTIFUL.
"I can see why you like her," Riley whispered to Gary.

Gary let out a chuckle. A real chuckle. "Yup. So, if you don't mind, Riley, I would like to talk to Sammy alone?" Gary decided it was his time to make his move.

"Ok, talk to you later!" she said.
Riley ran to the parking lot, only to realize she had no ride.
"DAMNIT!" she yelled.
She texted Gary,
"Can u drive me 2 the hospital after your "'talk'"?" it said

Suddenly, Gary heard his phone:
"Mary had a little lamb" Quickly, he grabbed it before Sammy heard the rest of the ringtone.
"Sure. I'll drive you now just because this talk will be a while." He texted back.
"Sammy, I'll be right back. I'm realy sorry for all of this."
Gary ran to his lighting yellow convertible.
"Hop in!"

With another sudden change of tone she said
"Gary, do you think Chris will forgive me?"

As Gary backed out of the parking lot and went as fast as he can without getting arrested, he thought hard about Riley's question.
"Of course not. He cares for you, and that's the reason he saved you. He will be thankful to know that you were there for him." Gary started...
Suddenly they hit a traffic jam.
He stood up in his seat.
"DAMMIT! LET'S KEEP IT MOVING, PLEASE! GOTTA GET TO THE HOSPITAL!" He plopped down on his seat and looked at Riley.
"Let's see, where was I? Oh, right, Chris. I wouldn't be worried. You're a great person." The jam started to clear., and Gary drove on.

"He doesn't care for me... he was just trying to be a hero. I kissed him and he kissed me back but then he... rejected me." she said.
She hated remembering that night. It was such a terrible day... But in a way it was the greatest day of her life.

"Oh... Well that's his loss. Losing the chance to get a great girl like you... He's missing out on a lot." Gary wanted to make sure he wasn't sending out mixed messages about how he felt for Riley.

"He's not losing his chance. I am completely in love with him. And I don't think that will ever change. I can't go a minute without thinking about him." she said.
"I don't know if he'll ever love me though..."
"I'm this overbearing, overdramatic crazy girl that no one wants... not even the guy who said I was the one..."
She didn't mean to make him feel bad. But it was hard to see him be falling for another girl. She loved Chris, but there would always be a part of her that felt for Gary.

Gary felt a tear run down his cheek. "You know, if you rejected me, you can't expect me to sit around and wait for you. I'm going to move on, which is exactly what you should do." They pulled into the hospital. "Have fun seeing your 'love of your life.'"
Gary was heartbroken, again, from the same girl... who he isn't even into anymore.

"Gary..."she said, with glassy eyes and weak words.
"I don't want you to move on..."she continued.
'Why did I just say that?' she thought.
A response mimicing her earlier one came.
'Because you are in love with Gary.'
Her subconscious mind was right. But she was also sure she was in love with Chris. She had never felt this way about anyone other than Chris. It felt unfamiliar and weird. But also warm and comfortable. She had always thought that Chris was the only one for her. But Gary made her feel so good, and he never hurt her.
How could she be in love with both of them?

"Listen, Riley, I have Sammy waiting for me back at the beach, and I don't know if I can look at you without... without..." Gary didn't want to say it. But he had to. "Without crying." A tear trickled down is cheek. He silently drove away.

She couldn't believe this. Couldn't Gary understand what she was going through? She owed it to Chris to be with him if he wanted her. And she loved him. But she was also loved Gary, and it was much more natural. It wasn't way too big of a celebrity crush. It was love.
Not knowing what else to do, she pulled out her cell phone and sent Gary a text message.
Within the text message were 3 little words that meant everything.
"I Love You"
